Autistic children often have difficulty with neurotypical social interactions related to their pragmatic language deficits. Visual scene displays (VSD) are a form of AAC that have been shown to increase a person’s vocabulary and social interactions. The purpose of the present investigation is to determine the use of VSDs with just-in-time (JIT) programming on increasing the number of conversational turns and the number of comments for autistic children in a structured setting.
