While occupational therapy (OT) programs focus on holistic, client-centered care, there is limited evidence of trauma-informed care principles in their curricula. With limited integration of this model in the OT practice framework, students are entering the clinical field unsure how to approach trauma clients and the potential occupational impacts. The purpose of the doctoral capstone project is to provide a structured, evidence-based educational program, with resources and support, for trauma-informed care in occupational therapy settings across the developmental lifespan.
