In 1978, the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AADP) reported Early Childhood Caries (ECC) was associated with night-time bottle feeding, leaving sugary milk in the mouths of chilren. Suggestions and guidelines determined that avoiding bottle-feeding after the first birthday supported less risk of ECC. Dental caries is the most common preventable chronic childhood disease in the United States. Providers and medical professionals noted the incidence of pediatric caries links to low-income families, social health determinants (SHD) and poor child feedings. Providers and other medical professionals fill the gaps needed for better oral health beginning with state, national, and worldwide awareness.
