The World Health Organization (WHO) has emphasized the urgency of reducing the incidents of suicide worldwide and called upon healthcare providers worldwide to help mitigate this problem. Approximately 700,000 individuals die every year from suicide, making it the fourth-highest cause of mortality. Outpatient departments have found significant difficulty in effectively screening for suicide risk due to a lack of knowledge, skills, readiness, and time. These obstacles posed a dilemma in screening proficiency among providers and staff and did not allow for proper addressing of both emergency and non-emergency mental health issues, including suicide.
