Occupational therapists (OTs) and occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) have work responsibilities that require them to collaborate within a partnership. Collaboration within this partnership is defined as intraprofessional collaboration. Intraprofessional collaboration among OT practitioners is the ability to integrate teamwork into daily work practices using effective communication while following ethical and professional work standards. However, a profound number of OTs and OTAs are not trained to perform interrelated work duties prior to entering the workforce. Due to this oversight, the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education and the American Occupational Therapy Association standards for OTPs were updated to mandate that this tenet of cooperation be met. Currently, the lack of training in educational institutions makes these standards impossible to meet prior to employment in the field. This project was developed to address these issues, launching as a pilot, educational case intervention in the form of a workshop.
