Three-dimensional printing has emerged as an innovative approach to orthotic fabrication in hand therapy, offering the potential to improve customization, reproducibility, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Despite increasing interest in additive manufacturing, many occupational therapists and hand therapists report limited education and experience with 3D-printing technologies. The purpose of this capstone project was to evaluate whether participation in a structured 3-hour educational seminar influenced occupational therapy practitioners’ familiarity with 3D-printed orthoses, perceptions of their clinical value, perceived workplace support for exploring 3D-printing technologies, and likelihood of trialing 3D printing in clinical practice. Secondary aims included identifying perceived barriers and resources needed for implementation and participation satisfaction with the seminar.
