Speech language-pathologists (SLPs) who are speakers of Standard American English (SAE) have relied on standardized assessments to diagnose students who speak both SAE and African American English (AAE), often without accounting for the differences between the two dialects. This study examined the effects of asynchronous training on the confidence and knowledge of school-based SLPs who are native speakers of SAE in using dynamic assessment (DA).
