The Ability of Typically Developing Preschoolers to Implement Aided AAC Modeling Within a Peer-mediated Intervention with their Preschool-aged Peers with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Communication partner training has been an effective intervention to support social communication and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) use of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Previous investigations found that Stay-Play-Talk and AAC modeling improved expressive communication and social skills. This study investigated the effect of AAC modeling within a peer-mediated intervention on communication of preschoolers with ASD.
