This capstone project aimed to explore the benefits of pain management in orthopedic shoulder rehabilitation, intending to enhance treatment compliance. An increasing body of evidence indicates that the effective combination of manual therapy and movement therapy can alleviate pain and disability while also improving daily functional activities for patients with shoulder disorders. This evidence-based occupational therapy business plan offers an extensive literature review supporting the holistic intervention components through the occupational therapist’s lens to treat the client’s pain, resulting in an inverse relationship with treatment compliance. By emphasizing compliance, this project will contribute to developing evidence-based shoulder rehabilitation intervention within a business plan and using the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) as an outcome measure for adults suffering from shoulder disorders.
