This capstone project aimed to develop and implement an online caregiver training program to support the self-care skill development of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Trinidad and Tobago. The program consisted of four modules – potty training, feeding, dressing, and oral hygiene – delivered via Zoom to a small group of caregivers. Pre- and post-program surveys were conducted to evaluate caregiver confidence, satisfaction, and perceived effectiveness of the training. Results indicated increased caregiver confidence and high satisfaction, with most caregivers reporting the training as meaningful and effective in fostering their child’s independence. This project contributes to the limited resources available for ASD-related caregiver support in low-resource communities and highlights the potential of virtual platforms for accessible training delivery.
