Kindergarten readiness encompasses a range of skills and developmental areas, including fine motor, visual motor, self-regulation, social-emotional, and executive function skills, all of which are crucial for preparing young learners for school success. Underpreparedness for kindergarten is a critical public health issue, as early learning skill deficits can have a significant impact on a child’s academic success, with lasting effects on school participation and performance. This doctoral capstone project resulted in a comprehensive, evidence-based business plan for Little Roots Therapy. This community-based pediatric occupational therapy practice addresses the need for kindergarten readiness early intervention services.
