Occupational therapy (OT) students often enter acute-care fieldwork with uncertainty, limited confidence, and variable readiness for the fast-paced demands of clinical practice. Simulation-based learning (SBL) has emerged as a promising approach to bridging this gap by providing structured, realistic opportunities to practice essential skills prior to Level II fieldwork. This capstone project examined the impact of a one-day, high-fidelity simulation workshop on OT students’ preparedness as they transitioned from classroom learning to clinical practice. The central research question guiding this project was: How does a simulation-based learning workshop impact the clinical competence, communication, and emotional resilience of occupational therapy students transitioning from classroom to clinic?
