Behavioral disorders among children have become a major area of concern in our society, and are frequent reasons why children are referred for interventions. Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) is a leading cause of referral for youth mental health services. Mental health is now the leading cause of disability in world youth. Children with ODD are at risk for serious crimes as teenagers with high possibility for Juvenile Delinquency (JD) if not treated effectively. Although there is overwhelming research evidence showing the best treatment approach to children with ODD, evidence-based practice (EBP) standards were not utilized at one local child and adolescent outpatient clinic. Current treatment practice at the outpatient clinic is lacking parental training (PT).
