Speech sound disorders (SSDs) are the most common communication disorder in children across the United States (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, n.d.-b). As this population is at risk for a host of adverse emotional, social, and academic outcomes, speech-language pathologists (SLPs) must utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to remediate errors functionally. This study aims to provide current research on the efficacy of the paired stimuli approach in children with SSDs.
