Semantic mapping is supported in the extant literature as an effective methodology for vocabulary intervention. However, culturally responsive interventions to improve vocabulary comprehension remain an area for exploration. This investigation explored the effect of culturally responsive semantic mapping (CRSM) to bolster Tier II vocabulary word comprehension in preteens, non-Mainstream American English (NMAE) speakers.
