This investigation aimed to explore the impact of online augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) training on healthcare professional’s shared decision-making (SDM) skills with patients who present with complex communication needs (CCN). The primary investigator developed a training program focused on foundational AAC concepts and SDM for healthcare professionals who had not participated in AAC training and who currently interact with individuals with CCN.
