The Effect of Coaching on Novice Speech-Language Pathologists’ Accuracy of Identifying Penetration and Aspiration

This investigation aimed to determine if coaching of novice speech-language pathologists (SLPs) could increase both accuracy when using the Penetration-Aspiration Scale (PAS) and increase self-perceived confidence when using the PAS during observation of a modified barium swallow study (MBSS). It was hypothesized that both accuracy and confidence would increase.
