Interventions for children with delayed expressive language have not traditionally included aided methods because of the assumption that speech attempts by the child will decrease or disappear with the introduction of AAC. This investigation examined the effect of using aided language modeling (ALM) with iconic images on the oral output of late-talking toddlers in early intervention programs.
