The Effect of a Spaced Retrieval Training Program on the Accuracy of Responses to Structured “Wh”-Questions Following Short Narrative Passages in Adults with Mild to Moderate Alzheimer’s Dementia

This study evaluated the effectiveness of narrative-based spaced retrieval training (SRT) for adults with mild-moderate Alzheimer’s dementia, with the aspiration of determining whether SRT can support functional cognitive-communication outcomes beyond the recall of isolated facts. The project specifically examined whether training with wh-questions paired with short narratives could strengthen recall, comprehension, and the sequencing of everyday events.
