Theory of mind (ToM), the ability to understand that others have thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and intentions that may differ from one’s own, is often a challenge for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children in mainstream schools. Targeted training by speech-language pathologists has been shown to improve classroom practice. This investigation examined the effect of SLP-led ToM training for itinerant teachers of deaf and hard of hearing (ToDHH) on their confidence and knowledge of ToM and implementation.
