Children in residential foster care often experience instability and inconsistent routines, which can negatively impact their participation in daily occupations and overall well-being. Occupational therapy emphasizes the importance of structure, routine, and meaningful activities in supporting occupational performance. This capstone project involved developing and implementing a staff training program at The Willow House, a residential childcare facility, to increase staff knowledge of how structured routines and planned activities support children’s occupational participation and behavioral regulation.
