Addressing and resolving local community health issues is an important aspect of ensuring a thriving community. The evolving needs in addressing chronic conditions, musculoskeletal conditions, social determinants of health, and decreased wellness are evident in reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as community needs assessment from Brevard County, Florida, the local community of this author. Advancements in research demonstrate that utilizing occupation-based practice (OBP) and occupation-based interventions (OBI) to address the evolving healthcare needs and initiatives increases quality of life and outcomes among individuals in the local community. This author developed a thorough evidence-based business plan for an outpatient occupational therapy (OT) clinic focusing on OBI service delivery to restore wellness and quality of life to the local community in Brevard County. This business plan utilizes the foundations of OT and evidence-based practice to promote wellness among local community members. The use of the person-environment-occupation-performance (PEOP) model of practice, along with the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO), is integrated into this business plan to achieve this goal in daily practice, ultimately leading to improved quality outcomes, occupational performance, and patient satisfaction.
