Sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD), including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), are prevalent yet often undiagnosed conditions that significantly impact public health. SRBD are associated with serious health conditions, such as cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, dental, and other diseases. The American Dental Association recommends that dentists screen for SRBD due to their unique position seeing patients frequently and their orofacial expertise to observe SRBD risk factors. Despite this recommendation, adherence among dentists is low, potentially due to perceived barriers and a lack of confidence in screening processes. The study aimed to explore dentists’ attitudes, perceptions, and experiences regarding SRBD screening.
