Barriers to the early identification and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) include long waitlists, a lack of specialists, pediatrician time constraints, and misleading reassurances from healthcare providers. This study aimed to investigate the effect of online SPIKES protocol training on novice speech-language pathologists’ (SLPs) confidence in discussing potential ASD diagnoses with caregivers.
