Children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) sometimes have difficulty building vocabulary due to the demand to attend to, integrate, and manipulate information streams. Research indicates that multimodal instruction, such as the Expanding Expression Tool can be effective in building vocabulary. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the use of the EET on the ability to verbally describe objects in middle school students with ASD.
