Joint range of motion (ROM) is a fundamental aspect of the physical examination of patients with flexibility impairments. The most common tool used is the Universal Goniometer (UG), and it can be difficult to utilize for all joints. The EasyAngle (EA), a novel digital goniometer, was developed to potentially improve and simplify joint ROM measurements. These dissertation studies aim to 1) Test the concurrent validity and Intra-rater reliability of the (EA) compared to the (UG) when measuring the hip joint; 2)Explore the intra-rater and the inter-rater reliability of the (EA) when measuring ROM at the hip joint; 3) Investigate whether physical therapist experience influences the realiability of the EA; and 4) Identify factors that influence adoption of the EasyAngle using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) among licensed physical therapists.
